2. What this policy covers
- this website, farooqmughal.net, in all its languages;
- the company’s private tools that use Sign in with Google (for example the posting studio at farooqmughal.net/fm-posting);
- messages you send us by e-mail, telephone or WhatsApp;
- our work for clients.
Where one of our products — Farooq Music, FarooqStars, Urdu Zaban, MyMandoob — or one of our apps has its own privacy policy, that policy applies to that product. This policy applies to everything else we do.
3. Information we collect
3.1 When you visit this website
This website has no sign-up, no forms, no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and we do not use cookies on it.
Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records some technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the page you came from and your browser and device type. These server logs are used only to run and protect the website and are kept for a limited time.
The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information (Google’s own privacy policy applies).
Links to other websites — our products, our clients, Microsoft Store, GitHub, Google Maps, WhatsApp — take you to services that have their own privacy policies.
3.2 When you contact us
If you write to us, call us or send us a WhatsApp message, we receive your name, your contact details (e-mail address or phone number) and whatever you tell us. We use this only to reply, to provide what you asked for and to keep the records the law requires (for example for accounting and tax).
3.3 Sign in with Google (company tools)
Some of our internal tools — for example the posting studio at farooqmughal.net/fm-posting — use “Sign in with Google” so that only people authorised by the company can open them. When you sign in, Google tells us your name, e-mail address, profile picture and Google account ID.
- We use only the e-mail address, to check that it is on the company’s list of authorised people. If it is not, access is refused.
- We keep the e-mail address in a private, secure session (for at most 7 days) and in the tool’s private activity record, which notes who signed in and what was done; refused sign-ins are noted too. The record is kept on our own server, outside the public website, and is trimmed automatically.
- We do not ask for access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or any other Google data. We do not share or sell this information and we do not use it for advertising.
- Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
3.4 Our social media accounts
We publish our own content (songs, reels and stories) on our own pages and accounts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp, using those platforms’ official tools. We do not collect personal information about the people who see or follow these accounts, beyond the general statistics that the platforms show to every page owner. When you use these platforms, their own privacy policies apply.
3.5 Client projects
When we build or run a website or app for a client, the client decides what personal information that product collects and why. We handle that information only to deliver the agreed work, on the client’s instructions, under our agreement with the client and the client’s own privacy policy.
4. How we use information
- to reply to you and provide what you ask for;
- to run, protect and improve our systems;
- to meet our legal obligations;
- to protect our rights and the rights of our users and the public.
Where the law requires a legal basis (for example for people in the European Union or the United Kingdom), ours is: a contract with you or your request, a legal obligation, our legitimate interest in running and protecting our services, or your consent.
5. Sharing
We never sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- service providers who run our systems for us — website hosting, cloud servers, e-mail, domain and security services, and Google for sign-in — and only as far as that service needs;
- authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public;
- a successor, if the company’s business is ever transferred, under the same protections.
6. Where information is stored
Our service providers may store information in countries other than yours. We choose reputable providers and protect the information as this policy describes, wherever it is stored.
7. How long we keep it
Only as long as needed: server logs and activity records for a limited time; messages for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to keep the records the law requires. After that, the information is deleted.
8. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS); keys and passwords are kept outside public folders and never in our code; access is limited to the people who need it; and we keep regular backups. No system is perfectly secure — if an incident ever affects you, we will tell you where the law requires.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to stop using it for a purpose, or to withdraw your consent. Write to support@farooqmughal.net; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live. In our products, you can also use the download and delete options where they exist.
10. Children
This website and our company tools are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes will be shown clearly on this page.
